Grespania, a pioneer in environmental sustainability, has installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of its plant in Moncófar, Castellón.
This PV installation of 907 kWp is capable of generating 1.3 GWh of clean energy per year. This will meet more than 30% of the total energy requirement for the factory, leading to savings of 20% in the electricity bill, and contributing to an annual reduction of 400 metric tons of CO2.
This initiative is part of the firm commitment to sustainability shown by the company, which has already launched other environmentally-friendly programmes, such as the installation of a water treatment system, the cogeneration plant that contributes to primary energy savings, or the zero waste concept in its wall tile factory .
Grespania’s range of products currently include floors (3.5 and 5.6mm thick) that minimize the generation of waste as they can be laid on top of the existing material; as well as wall tiles that purify the air around them due to the application of its H&C product.
