Ceramique Internationale has added a suite of new colours to its highly popular collection, Lume.
The glazed Italian tiles, manufactured by Marazzi, launched in the UK just over two years ago. This contemporary take on the traditional Moroccan zellige style has proved to be a huge hit with consumers, as well as winning best product in the ‘Finishes’ category in the international Archiproducts Design Awards.
Lume is a collection of 60 by 240mm gloss-effect porcelain stoneware tiles, cleverly manufactured in modern kilns to reproduce the charm of historic handmade zellige tiles, meaning it features irregular edges, glaze variations and lifelike flawed surfaces. Launched in six stunning tones, Ceramique Internationale has responded to demand by introducing a further six colours: Turquoise, Beige, Pink, Off White, China, and Forest.
The collection is part of Italian manufacturer Marazzi’s Crogiolo range – which translates from Italian to mean ‘crucible’ or ‘melting pot’ – reflecting the tile’s exotic heritage.
Director of Ceramique Internationale, Peter Vann, said: “Lume has been extremely well received over the last couple of years for both residential and commercial applications. The trend for zellige-style tiles has really taken off and so we are delighted to expand our repertoire with a wider range of exquisite colours. I believe the Lume collection will now cater for all tastes.”
